Knight/Dame Seneschal
The highest Honour of The Order, that of Knight or Dame Seneschal is bestowed exclusively on the most senior officers of The Order, who must be persons of outstanding merit and personal achievement. It is from this body that the Officers of the Order are selected including the deputy to the Grand Master and from which vacancies in the Inner Court are filled. Although not compulsory, it is probable that a candidate will have held the honour of Knight Commander for a period of not less than five years.
At his Investiture into this rank, the candidate is presented with a new Warrant, a Seneschal sword and the emblem of the Order in gold and further enamelled in red and black.
Members of the Inner Court are selected from all areas of the order these include the Priors of the Order along with the senior officers.
